Primary 4 pupils embarked on a journey to the Emerald City this week in a spectacular performance of The Wizard of Oz.

The audience followed Dorothy's journey down the yellow brick road, encountering iconic characters and facing formidable challenges along the way. Our young actors effortlessly slipped into their roles, embodying beloved characters such as Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. From the lively Munchkins of Munchkinland to the menacing Wicked Witch of the West, each scene was infused with energy and excitement.

Fearghas, P4 pupil, shared: “I have found the rehearsals and the performances nerve wracking and really exciting. It was great having everyone watching us, and I wanted to be sure I remembered all my parts. The best bit has been being in The Lollipop Guild because we got to sing our own song. The whole cast practised a lot and worked hard. We worked together to manage to do it all.”

Mrs Dainton, Teacher of Drama, added: “We are so proud of what our young people have achieved in such a short amount of time. Every single pupil has been given the opportunity to shine on stage and it really has been a team effort between all three P4 classes across Music and Drama to put this incredible performance together.”

Primary 4 are off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz!
