Primary 5 had a fantastic trip to Edinburgh this week. We visited Edinburgh castle and the Palace of Holyrood House as part of our Social Studies topic.
Following in the footsteps of Mary Queen of Scots really allowed the project to come alive to the pupils. We couldn’t believe how small James VI birthing room was in Edinburgh Castle whilst we were excited to see the spot David Rizzo had been murdered in Mary Queen of Scots Bedroom in the Palace.
Whilst at the Castle we were able to handle weapons from this period of history. At the Palace we were able to examine artefacts from when Mary Queen of Scots was resident at the Palace.
In both venues our tour guides praised not only the pupils behaviour but also their fantastic knowledge on this period of history.
