Kicking off a landmark anniversary year marking ten years at The Craig Centre for Performing Arts, Primary 6 pupils performed 'A Celebration of Scotland’.
The show, inspired by their class topic on Scotland, was a vibrant and thoughtful showcase of creativity. Throughout the performance, there were lively nods to Scotland’s literary heritage, including a touch of Shakespeare, alongside references to the beloved comic character Oor Wullie.
Miss Taylor, Teacher of Music shared: “The P6 pupils demonstrated musical and instrumental skills while exploring themes of Scotland through song. The classes performed a collection of traditional folk songs alongside modern anthems, reflecting on themes of history, community spirit, resilience and determination, highlighting Scotland’s rich and unique culture. Each musical item presented different challenges and I was so proud of the primary 6’s commitment to collaborating effectively, bringing to life their individual pieces for the show.”
The confidence, teamwork, and enthusiasm displayed by Primary 6 pupils set the tone perfectly for a year of celebration. As the Craig Centre for Performing Arts marks its tenth anniversary, it is clear that its stage continues to provide a space where young people can connect their learning, express themselves creatively, and grow in confidence.
