Primary 5 wowed their audience with an unforgettable show in the Craig Centre for Performing Arts, where they transported their audience across the Atlantic to the heart of the United States of America.
From iconic American-themed songs and acting, to Broadway classics and lively dance numbers, the pupils left no stone unturned in their efforts to capture the spirit of the USA.
Mrs O’Connell, Teacher of Drama, shared: “The P5 pupils lit up the Craig Centre stage. They were Superstars! The amount of talent in this year group is unbelievable and together they blew everyone away.
“To see the joy in the children when sharing this with their parents was wonderful! We are all so proud of every single one of you and we know your parents are too! They deserved every single bit of the applause they received. They sure knew how to Party in the USA!”
Mrs Massie, Head of Creative Arts commented: “In week two of a new term, Primary 5 pupils gave a wonderful performance to a packed audience in the Craig Centre. Sharing their learning in Music and Drama, there was no time for pupils to wait in the green room as they were so busy on stage singing, acting, drumming, presenting and dancing!
“Pupils were completely engaged and worked so hard to create an exciting programme that featured selections from ‘Bugsy Malone’, ‘Annie’ and ‘Hairspray’. They also performed some more traditional American Music and shared what they had learned about John Williams.”
