The Robert Gordon's College quadrangle was abuzz with excitement on Saturday, as former pupils returned for the 2024 Reunion Day. Pipe band melodies and Highland dancing filled the air as the Classes of 1964, 1974, 1984, 1994, and 2004 reunited to celebrate their 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60-year anniversaries.

Gordonians from near and far flocked back to the College, eager to reminisce about old times, share laughter, and catch up with friends they hadn't seen in decades. A former pupil from the Class of ‘57 also joined the celebration, having travelled from his home in New Zealand and the turnout was a testament to the enduring bonds forged within the school's walls.

Laura Presslie, Director of Advancement, expressed her delight, stating, "It's incredible to see the passion and loyalty that Gordonians hold for their school. The reunion day was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect and celebrate the shared experiences that have shaped us all. Robert Gordon’s has a strong ethos for maintaining links with its former pupils and we saw evidence of that today with many travelling from across the UK, and for some as far as New Zealand and Dubai to meet together again "

The attendance of Gordonians and the effort in the distances they have travelled, is very much appreciated. The new connections that have been established will help us to add value to our pupils' experience at school and in their pathway beyond school.”

Allan MacLeod, from  the Class of '84, shared, "Many thanks to the College for a wonderful reunion event, we were all very glad we came and it was beautifully organised."

The event was a resounding success, filled with heartwarming stories, laughter, and a strong sense of community. As the event came to a close and Gordonians bid farewell, they left with a renewed appreciation for their time at the College and the enduring friendships they had made.
