The Robert Gordon’s College Pipe Band were honoured to have the Lord Lyon of Scotland present the King's Coronation Medal on 28 May 2024 to those members of the CCF and Pipe Band who were involved in Operation Spectre last year.

On 5 July 2023, the Pipe Band accompanied by a military escort of 700 servicemen and women, were given the honour of leading the People’s Procession along the Royal Mile as King Charles was presented with The Honours of Scotland. The presentation included the Scottish Crown, the Sceptre and the new Queen Elizabeth Sword in St Giles Cathedral. 

Members of the Robert Gordon’s College CCF and pipe band community along with the Head of College, parents and staff watched proudly as the following Cadet Force adult volunteers, pipers and drummers were awarded the King’s Coronation Medal in the RGC Quadrangle by the Lord Lyon in recognition of their service:
