In the summer term, Primary 5 pupils had the opportunity to take part in the exciting Future Martians STEM science project.

Aimed at analyzing the response of electronics, materials, plants and even food that we currently have on Earth that is sustainable on Mars, the pupils filled Kinder Egg capsules with water and salt, oil and vinegar as well as hand sanitiser. In June, the eggs were then launched 30km up into the Earth’s atmosphere and will soon be returned to the pupils for analysis.

Mrs Cameron, Junior School Science Teacher shared: “This was a fantastic project to get involved with, which ignited the pupils' enthusiasm! We thoroughly enjoyed planning the experiments and watching the Mars Balloon's progress. We eagerly await the return of the retrieved capsules so we can analyse them.”

We cannot wait to see the results!
