Over recent months, a team of dedicated pupils and staff with a shared passion for enhancing the Schoolhill grounds came together to establish RGC’s Outdoor Spaces Committee.

United by a commitment to improving the school environment, the group has been working behind the scenes to plan meaningful and lasting changes to our outdoor spaces.

At the beginning of the Easter break, the RGC joined forces together to transform the flower beds in the quad as part of the school's very first Groundforce Day. The committee carefully selected a mix of flowering, deciduous, and evergreen shrubs alongside a variety of perennials, all chosen to reflect RGC’s identity and colour palette centered on purple-blue and yellow-orange-gold.

Speaking more about the event, Miss Reid, Outdoor Spaces Lead shared: We are excited to have been supported by the Ben Reid Garden Centre as well as a team of pupil, parent and staff volunteers to have started planting up the beds. We are excited to see the blooming marvelous outcomes in the years to come and hope that all of our campus users enjoy the benefits. Our hopes are to further improve mental and physical health, boost cognitive development, and enhance environmental sustainability.”
