I firmly believe in the importance of building a strong foundation of skills from an early stage in a child’s life to equip them to thrive in a modern world. Robert Gordon’s ethos and ambition aligns with my values and vision for education. I am excited to be leading the Nursery and Junior School and continue to provide a high quality education and excellence in all aspects of the curriculum. As we prepare our pupils for the future, our role as strategic educators is to strive to develop an inclusive and dynamic learning community that prepares children who have a love of learning to become critical thinkers and compassionate global citizens.”
Robin Macpherson, Head of College, commented: “I am delighted to introduce Jane as the new Head of Junior School and look forward to welcoming her to Gordon’s in the new year. We had a huge amount of interest in the post from across Scotland, the UK and internationally. After a rigorous interview process involving pupils, staff, parents, governors and senior leaders, Jane emerged as the outstanding candidate. We were deeply impressed by her values, her energy, her warmth of personality and her wide-ranging knowledge of education. We always say that we want children in our Nursery and Junior School to have the best start in life; Jane is perfectly suited to working with our brilliant teachers and education support staff to help our children to be all they can be.”
