On Tuesday 10th June, S3 National 5 Drama pupils had the exciting opportunity to attend the Light the Blue Theatre Tech Day at Aberdeen Music Hall.

The event, designed to introduce young people to the wide range of careers and skills involved in theatre production, brought together pupils from several schools across the region.

Throughout the day, pupils participated in a variety of interactive workshops led by experienced professionals from across the performing arts industry. These sessions provided valuable hands-on experience and insights into the many roles that support the work of performers on stage.

Topics included technical production lighting (LX) and special effects (SFX), front of house operations, facilitation and creative leadership, set and costume design, event programming, marketing and promotion, animation techniques and sound design and engineering. The animation demonstration and the opportunity to experiment with lighting and sound desks also proved especially popular.
