Over the past year, S6 pupil Ananth, along with five other young people from across Scotland, has been carrying out a research project on the Hindu community in Scotland.
After interviewing numerous individuals, various temple committees, and interfaith groups, the group wrote a book that delves into the rich history and experiences of the Scottish Hindu community from the 18th century to the present day.
Ananth shared: “This book uncovers the lives of pioneering early immigrants, explores ongoing challenges and celebrates the hopes and achievements of our community. It serves as a tribute to the resilience of the Scottish Hindu community, honouring those who have contributed to its vibrant legacy.”
‘Hindus in Scotland - Then & Now’ is available for purchase through Hindu Sahitya Kendra.
