After dreaming of experiencing different cultures, S6 pupil Amy travelled with The Mighty Roar to teach English in Bali during the October break.

Outside of school, Amy has held a part time role as a gymnastics coach. Furthering her passion of teaching children new skills and helping them to find their passion, she participated in a week-long teaching programme, where she spent a week of her October break teaching English to children aged 5-15 years old at a donation-funded school in Bali.

Amy shared: “Having worked with children for over a year now in my job as a gymnastics coach, I love being able to teach children new skills and help them find their passion.

“As I arrived at the school on the first day, the children were busy cleaning and tidying the classrooms before lessons started. They were so enthusiastic when meeting me and were very eager to learn! This was eye-opening and made me appreciate the education and support system I have here. I loved working with the children in Bali, and it’s something I want to be more involved with in the future.

“Teaching these classes has improved my people skills, which I hope to use in the future as a solicitor and hopefully I’ll have some spare time where I can be more involved with these schools in Bali.”
