Balancing the demands of football training and weekend fixtures with academic excellence is no small feat, but Sam (S4) has managed to do just that. Training four times a week, he has also achieved strong results in his National 5 exams. As Sam continues to pursue his passion for football under a schoolboy contract with the AFC Youth Academy, he will also be studying five Highers in S5, demonstrating remarkable dedication both on the pitch and in the classroom.

Sam is one of the 97% who achieved an A grade in the first year of Robert Gordon's College presenting pupils for National 5 PE. He also studied Applications of Mathematics, Biology, Business Management, English, Geography and Physics.

Sam said: "I am really happy with the results I’ve achieved, I feel I worked hard to get them and studied as much as I could while still training four times a week and playing matches at the weekend. In April I was delighted to be offered a school boy contract by Aberdeen which means I can stay in school and study the 5 higher subjects I have chosen while continuing with my football. I am looking forward to seeing what the year ahead brings."
