Meet our new School Captains team for the 2024-25 academic year!

Following a rigorous selection process, Michael and Isabella have been appointed as School Captains, with Ananth and Jules taking on the roles of Vice Captains. They were selected for their leadership qualities, dedication and their commitment to the College.

Isabella added: “I am beyond grateful to be in this position, and I am so excited for the invaluable opportunities that come with this privilege. I’ve had great support from staff and peers, and that means a lot to me. The four of us are such a dynamic and capable team,  and I know we will achieve the goals we set out to accomplish.”

Michael shared: “It is an honour to be selected as a school captain for this year, and I look forward to introducing many great ideas from students around the school. I am excited to work with the team of school captains, and as a team, I am sure we will accomplish many great things. We look to make sure that every pupil feels heard and is comfortable sharing topics that are important to them. Finally, I want younger pupils to know that they are always free to stop any of us around school to have a chat about whatever ideas they have thought of.”

Jules commented: “Being chosen as a vice school captain this year is such an honour, as is being able to work with the incredible team of my fellow captains and the Senior Leadership Team. We are all looking forward to the year ahead and giving back to the school in as many different aspects as we can. I aim to be an approachable figure for all years, from Junior School through to Senior School, as with student input, we can truly maximise our impact and make this year memorable for all students. It is important that all pupils in the school feel they have the resources to bring about positive change and have their new ideas shared. The chance to be a part of that is really inspiring.”

Ananth said: “Having joined RGC in P1, it is a huge privilege to finish my journey as School Vice Captain. I will strive to be a positive role model and hope to inspire our younger pupils to make the most of the wealth of opportunities available, so that they can develop their potential and become the leaders of tomorrow. I would strongly encourage students to engage in activities outside of the curriculum, such as sports and the arts, to become all rounded individuals.  I hope to strengthen our inclusive and diverse community, promote mental health resilience, ensure student voices are heard and be a positive ambassador for the school. I look forward to what promises to be a very exciting and rewarding year ahead.”Mr Hardie, Head of S6 said: “I am very excited to be working with Michael, Isabella, Jules and Ananth this year. Each of them brings a varied range of positive attributes, and together I have absolute confidence that they will make an outstanding team.”

The group has an incredibly busy year ahead of them and we cannot wait to see, along with their peers, what they achieve this academic year.
