The Science Squad had an explosive summer break with the inaugural Science Squad Summer Camp!
Each day of their week-long adventure at Schoolhill featured a different theme with fantastic experiments helped along by Senior School pupils.
At the start of the week, the children focused on ‘Earth Day’, where they created and erupted their very own volcanoes, exploring the powerful forces of nature. They also ventured into the Mesozoic Era, enjoying practical activities like excavating rocks during Dinosaur digs and creating their own fossils.
Day two was all about outer space. The children launched their carefully designed rockets in the quad before they marvelled at the wonders of the universe during a training session in the Techfest Planetarium.
Mid week, the pupils became detectives for Investigation Day, learning how to take fingerprints, footprint casts, create invisible writing, and solving a make-believe burglary in the Junior School Science room!
Energy Day and Kitchen Science Day were a blast! Our pupils dove into the wonders of kinetic energy and vitamin C, making fizzy rockets and exploring light energy with sparklers and bunsen burners.
On Kitchen Science Day, creativity took centre stage. From crafting bath bombs to discovering the magic of bubbles, our young scientists didn't just learn - they created! And, who could forget the fun of making slime from scratch?
