We are delighted to share that two of our Senior School pupils have been accepted into the British Youth Music Theatre.

Iona (S5) and Miley (S6) have secured coveted spots in the prestigious British Youth Music Theatre this summer, working with experienced theatre professionals to develop their acting, singing, movement, writing and devising abilities.

Iona shared: “I’m so excited to be a part of BYMT for the first time this summer. It will be a new experience for me as I will be performing in a new place, new theatre and with a brand new piece of material.”

Miley commented: “I am absolutely thrilled to get to be a part of this and to visit a new place and experience new things. I can’t wait to meet more people as passionate as I am about theatre and am glad to spend my Craig Award grant on such an exciting experience!”

Both pupils were joint winners of the 2023 Craig Award showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication to the arts.

Miss Boyne, Principal Teacher of Drama, commented: “Being accepted into the British Youth Music Theatre (BYMT) is a significant achievement for school pupils interested in pursuing a career in music and theatre. This accomplishment speaks volumes about the dedication, talent, and hard work of Iona and Miley. It's a wonderful platform for them to showcase their abilities and potentially launch careers in the creative arts!”
