Last week, we were delighted to welcome a group of Spanish pupils from our partner school, Colegio Mariano Vigo, who were hosted by our pupils as part of the exchange programme.
During their stay, the pupils experienced some of the highlights of the North East of Scotland. A visit to Newburgh Beach gave them the chance to see seals in their natural habitat for the very first time, while a trip to Crathes Castle allowed them to explore one of Scotland’s most beautiful historic sites and even spot Highland cows along the way.
The group also enjoyed plenty of fun activities together. They tried ice skating and had a fantastic time dancing at the school ceilidh, where everyone joined in to learn traditional Scottish dances. Food was another highlight of the visit, with the pupils sampling classic Scottish treats including fish and chips and shortbread.
Perhaps the most special part of the experience was staying with Scottish host families and attending lessons at Robert Gordon’s College, giving the visitors a real insight into everyday life in Scotland.
We can’t wait to see our pupils put their Spanish skills to the test when they visit Vigo this month to immerse themselves in Spanish culture.
