On Monday 3rd VII and 4th VII netball teams competed in the ASSNA Senior B Tournament at the Beach Leisure Centre. RGC 3rd VII were competing against St Margaret’s 1st team, Harlaw 1st team and 2nd teams from Mackie and Albyn. As a 3rd team we knew the competition would be tough in 10 minute round robin fixtures. A last minute cancellation from Cults allowed us to enter an RGC 4th VII. A huge thank you to some of our S3 players for stepping in to ensure the tournament continued as planned. Our RGC 3rd VII took 3rd Place overall after a 7-8 nail biting final fixture against Albyn 2nd VII. Our 4th VII finished in 5th place.

On Wednesday our 1st and 2nd VII netball teams competed in the ASSNA Senior A tournament. 1st VII coach Miss Stewart was delighted that her team were the tournament winners. After the group stages they went through undefeated into the semi finals where they met Albyn School and then Mackie Academy in the final. Great teamwork, full court defence and fast attacking ball was clear throughout. Miss Stewart is so proud of the girls as the standard of netball currently in schools across the city and shire is very high and Mackie Academy were a very strong opponent in the final. Player of the tournament was Grace M for an outstanding performance in the final. Grace played with great composure and was very physically strong against a strong Mackie defence. Our captains Lucy and Piper were also outstanding throughout and showed great leadership.

Thank you to all our senior girls for their participation in these tournaments. It is fantastic we can field so many enthusiastic and talented teams as several schools find it hard to maintain one senior team.

We would like to thank all our pupils for their commitment to sport and hard work over this term and to all parents for their support. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year.
