Yesterday evening, the Robert Gordon’s community enjoyed a fantastic return to Aberdeen Music Hall for our Spring Music Concert.

Pupils from P4-S6 performed a varied programme of music, such as classical composition pieces from Mozart, to songs from DreamWorks film ‘How to Train your Dragon’ and the musical ‘Chicago’.

Music ensembles performing throughout the evening were:

  • Intermediate Concert Band

  • Intermediate String Orchestra

  • Junior Concert Band

  • P6/7 Choir

  • S1/2 Choir

  • Junior String Orchestra

  • Pipe Band

  • P4/5 Choir

  • Senior Ceilidh Band

  • Senior Choir

  • Senior String Orchestra

  • Chamber Choir

  • Senior Concert Band

During the concert, funds were raised for two local charities: Home-Start Aberdeen and AberNecessities.

Speaking about the success of the evening, Mr Haggart, Head of Music shared: “That was a glorious night of music-making! All the performers from the youngest to the oldest gave one hundred percent. The variety and quality was absolutely outstanding and the rapturous reception from the audience said everything. Music has the power to bring everyone together and tonight’s concert brought that home loud and clear. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of the performers and their teachers, and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves. It was a night that will live long in my memory and I’m sure that everyone else who was there could say the same.”
