We were thrilled to host Giancarlo Lisi from Kristin School in New Zealand as part of his GAIL Teaching Fellowship research trip. His visit to Robert Gordon’s College provided a unique opportunity for cross-continental collaboration, enriching both staff and pupils.

Erin McGrath, GAIL Co-ordinator, shared: "Giancarlo spent time with Music and Drama, led choir warm ups, taught the P1 and P5 classes a new song and held focus groups with S6s. We look forward to reading his research write up which will focus on curriculum development using RGC and Kimball Union, USA to exemplify different approaches."

At the end of his visit, Giancarlo highlighted: "I would like to say a warm thank you to all the staff and pupils of Robert Gordon's College for hosting my visit all the way from Kristin School in New Zealand. Our GAIL network of schools is an incredible resource for everyone to access in order to bolster their own professional learning. I had the pleasure of seeing many classes and co-curricular groups in action with some amazing students and inspiring teachers.

“I would like to make a special shout out to Robin Macpherson, Erin McGrath, Chris Pearson, and Amanda Massie who made my time here absolutely spectacular! I can't wait to see what the future has in store for our two schools, and to eventually welcome you to beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand. Mā te wā, Giancarlo."

Immersing himself in our Music and Drama departments, Giancarlo brought fresh perspectives to our classrooms, leading engaging sessions and sharing valuable insights. His work within the GAIL network is a testament to the power of global educational partnerships, and we are excited to see the impact of his research on curriculum development.
