Charitable pupils in S2 started a coin collection after learning about how the lack of access to clean water impacts on whole communities.

The total amount raised enabled the pupils to purchase a water pump from Water Aid to ensure safe water is more accessible. The pupils voted to donate the additional money raised to Oxfam projects ‘supporting mums and babies, education programmes for girls, and helping people caught up in war and conflict.’

Dr Gray says: “Their efforts have gone some way to meeting six of the Sustainable Development Goals!”
