The Gordon’s community extends a warm welcome to new members of the Senior School Leadership Team, Mrs Clare Smith and Mr Neil Buchanan.

Taking up post as Head of Senior School, Mrs Smith joins the College from Wellington School in Ayrshire where she was part of the Senior Leadership Team with responsibility for strategic and operational leadership of Nursery, Junior and Senior School.

In a video message to the Gordon’s community, Mrs Smith shared: “I am especially passionate to instil a love for learning in all our pupils that will stay with them throughout their lives. There are so many opportunities available here at Gordon’s and I will encourage all of our young people to make the most of all that’s on offer.

“It feels like an exciting time to be joining Robert Gordon’s College and I’m delighted to be part of this fantastic school.”

Following his role of Assistant Head at Reigate Grammar School (RGS), one of the leading HMC schools in the south of England, Mr Buchanan joins the College as Deputy Head for S3 and S4.

Mr Buchanan shared: “I am looking forward to exploring the outdoor education opportunities in Aberdeen and surrounding countryside and seeing the brilliant efforts of our pupils as we reintroduce participation in concerts, performances, clubs and societies.

“I have a keen interest in sport having played and coached rugby for many years so was naturally very happy to take up post at a time when the school is reviewing its plans for PE and Sport and helping pupils develop on and off the sports field.”

Welcome to Mrs Smith and Mr Buchanan
